Janice M. Murray

Janice M. Murray received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley in 1978 and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1981. Prior to her legal career, she had 10 years of business experience in private industry and higher education.

Ms. Murray joined the firm in 1981 and has specialized in bankruptcy and business reorganization since that time. She has represented debtors, trustees, secured and unsecured creditors and creditors' committees in Chapter 11 cases as well as in out of court workouts. Her practice is primarily focused in Silicon Valley and she has extensive experience in various industries including high technology, real estate and manufacturing. She has lectured on bankruptcy related issues for the California State Bar, the Santa Clara County Bar Association, the Practising Law Institute, the Bay
Area Bankruptcy Forum and the Peninsula CPA/Bar Alliance.

Ms. Murray is active in the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section and the Women Lawyers Section of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the San Francisco Bar Association. She was on the board of directors for the Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum from 1997 to 2003 and currently serves on its Program Committee. She currently serves on the board of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (Northern California Chapter) and is a member of the Congressman Don Edwards American Inn of Court. She is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Northern California Super Lawyers.

Ms. Murray lives in Los Altos, California. Her recreational interests include golf, hiking, and travel.
